Arturo Parra will present works from his disc Voz in Colombian premiere on February 11, 2009 at the Iglesia de Santa Lucia in Chía (Colombia). He will also present two seminars: the first one is on listening sensitivity with, amongst others, musical excerpts from Forêt profonde by Francis Dhomont using listening scores; the other seminar will be is on new playing modes and the interaction between guitar and electroacoustics.

SARC of Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK) presents a week of “solo” concerts on February 16-20, 2009. The guest composers all have discs on empreintes DIGITALes: Adrian Moore, Jonty Harrison, David Berezan, Pete Stollery, and Denis Smalley.

Nicolas Bernier and Jacques Poulin-Denis has composed the music for two theatre productions: Le Complexe de Thénardier (directed by Denis Marleau) presented at the Espace Go in Montréal from January 20 to February 14, 2009 and La chambre blanche (a choreography by Ginette Laurin) presented at Place des Arts in Montréal on February 12 - 18. Both productions are back from triumphal tours in Europe. The adaptation of the music for La chambre blanche will be released on disc, Sur fond blanc, on February 12, available on electrocd.com.

Paul Dolden is writing a commission for the Ensemble Phoenix Basel (Switzerland). The work called Who Has the Strangest Melodies? will be premiered in their 2009-10 concert season.

Francis Dhomont will make a retrospective of his musical career on February 4, 2009 at Espace Senghor in Brussels (Belgium). This presentation will take the form of a musical discussion with Annette Vande Gorne.

Andrew Lewis’s Benllech Shells which appears on the disc Miroirs obscurs will be presented on February 6, 2009 at Sonic Spatial Perspectives in Leeds (UK). The keynote address will be presented by Jonty Harrison.
